Airwide Solutions Opens Regional Sales Office in Atlanta
Latest addition continues company's global growth strategy to meet demand
BURLINGTON, Mass. and READING, U.K. - Aug. 22, 2006 - Spurred by growing demand for its mobile messaging infrastructure and application technology, Airwide Solutions today announced that it has opened a regional sales office in Atlanta. The new office will be a catalyst for growing sales in the southeast, one of the hottest mobile messaging markets in the country.
This announcement follows closely on the heels of the company's further expansion in Asia. The newest office to open in the Americas, the Atlanta presence will enable Airwide to introduce the increasing number of wireless operators in the region to Airwide products, including the Fusion messaging architecture, which allows operators to embrace next-generation IP multimedia subsystem technology.
Demand for Airwide products has increased as the mobile messaging market will nearly double from $68 billion in 2006 to $117 billion in 2010, according to industry analyst firm Informa Media & Telecoms. This rapid growth is fueled by new applications such as text voting for TV shows like "American Idol." During these types of shows, millions of viewers cast ballots from cell phones, often flooding operators' infrastructures.
"We are poised for strong growth around the world as operators look to capitalize on new mobile messaging technologies that deliver more service features and support emerging revenue generators such as mobile marketing," said Kevin Wood, Airwide Solutions president and CEO. "Atlanta and the southeast region are hotbeds for mobile messaging activity, and our presence there gives us a strategic advantage in tapping into these rapidly growing markets."
